Is the show infinitely better with Duncan gone 'forever'?

I must begin with: AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Because this episode? So very funny! [Am I alone in thinking so? ] Jackie returns when Duncan leaves! Coincidence? I had actually forgotten most of her badness and so only found her slightly irritating. LOVED the WeeLo! Also loved the plot advancement, as far as the bus crash, who killed Felix, the FFitzpatricks...all of it, really. Gia! Hmmm. Oooooooh! Cliffhanger! I don't really believe that Terrence could be the bus crash-er, but I suppose they have to start somewhere. MotW was interesting enough. Overall I think I really enjoyed the episode. It was nice to be able to follow everything and not be tricked.

My video card or download or something is acting up, so I think I got lots of sped-up camera movements where there were none, but I am going to rewatch and post all of my thoughts anyway. The first scene was a bit weird. Veronica had a lot of the lines that I'd expect Wallace to have had [about how great Rashard is]. The Keith scene was very cool. I like seeing him show us why he's a good PI. I liked seeing him use information that we'd already been given too. Molly's lisp? Eep! The development was good though. Felix/Molly seems no less believable than some of the other relationships on the show. Poor Wallace. He tries to do the right thing and it gets thrown back in his face. It was also cool to see his dad again. I hope we get more explanation of all of that soonish though, I actually care about why Wallace went away and what is going on with him and his dad.
Below the article implicating Wallace it says 'Yoga Toga Party'! I can't quite read the article but it seems to just be random words. I'll have to look for screencaps. [Sometimes they write interesting things]
Veronica/KB was acting rather strangely in the scenes following the credits. I don't know why. I didn't love it. Maybe the Beanie of Duncan not-confessing about his baby puts her in a bad mood. [Example: jail is no fun. Love the line, but...it felt like it came off awkwardly?]
And I read on TWoP that they think Uncle Rucker is a South Park reference and...that would be hilarious!
What's no fun? Seeing Jackie! But I was more worried when she wasn't on the show for so long. Mr Woo's game show quiz? Cooooool! Wallace not being into Jackie? Also cool. I like that she was the desperate one. "I'm busy but you guys go ahead"? HEE!
A lawyer = Cliff! Yay! And why is Jackie a regular but he [and Lamb...] isn't?! "You'll end up married to some enormous murderer named 'Tiny'" = one of the funniest VM lines I can recall.
Yet another interesting development with Jackie's dad and Miss Dumbass. 10 minutes in and I've decided that it already needs to be the 'interesting development' episode.
The gambling/trust thing is interesting because...didn't Keith realise that Veronica bugged Lamb's office? And that is where her information about Terrence's gambling problem came from. So it was cool to see that Keith knows about it but Veronica thinks she got it past him. She really doesn't deserve to be trusted though.
WeeLo! YES! Having some suite time. I liked the Logan snark, but...poor Weevil. He tries so hard. [It's the interesting development and poor Weevil episode!] Also, Patrick Fitzpatrick? Hee. Hector's brother seeing Weevil leave is the kind of reveal/foreshadowing that I enjoy.
Rashard looks kind of old and scary. And as soon as I saw the limo I knew that Veronica was in on something, somehow. The good kind of predictable. Rashard's uncle [Uncle Rucker ] is such a killjoy. I wouldn't want him as my manager/etc. Inappropriate touching!
The underground car park scene was good. I really liked it. Uncle Rucker flashing his phone and being all intimidating... It reminded me of Alias too. [Without the shooting] Drive through guy as a witness works for me.
Lars! The karaoke thing is soooo weird, but I prefer it much more to the 'HEY LOOK AT THIS KEWLIES BAND' that The OC does, and the weird musical things on some other shows. I love how Lars always comes off second-best though And the song choice worked. I would rather have had the extended scene this episode than last time.
Weevil and Logan needing favours at the same time was a nice scene. [But one favour per customer is sort of...well, Logan didn't ask for the same favour so...what? I like the idea of the line but not the line itself] "So this is sneaking" absolutely cracked me up last night! It's still funny today. The pantomime horse thing was going a bit too far though. Saving Logan's ass with comment works better for all of us!
Ah, yes, the flashbacks we've been waiting for! Great great great scene with Keith listening to the tapes. But what is on the tapes is even greater! DICK! "Smelled like the ass of something that died", "I'm not like a professional smellologist"...AHAHAHA. Curly linking to more than just Haaron really works for me too, since he's got reason to know all the 09ers. Beaver saying that the limo was Dick's first good idea ever was priceless! If only Lamb wasn't so underused.
I like that Keith just casually says that he had a thought about the rat rather than telling Veronica exactly how much he knows - it's shades of the Lilly case when he [unintentionally] let Veronica figure things out for herself. And I like that this 'development' takes the Veronica Veronica Veronica out of the mystery. As lots of people were saying, it's overkill [slight pun intended] for someone to have killed a whole bus full of students just to get rid of Veronica.
The church scenes were cool. A church would be a terrible place to shoot in, but it looks so good on camera. And V so isn't going to hell! It's the end, not the means, that count. I am very glad they made Father Fitz an actual priest though, because, you know, Lost did it the other week and VM needs to prove that it's not a cheap Lost wannabe.
I'd expect more rap at a black frat party, to be honest. The Jackie thing at the party was good though! I knew something was up, but I wasn't sure. [And I also wasn't sure what was up with her top] It was the good kind of fake out.
Wallace won't come out of the closet!
The camera movements in the club were very Wonderfalls. A bit too stylistic for VM, but I liked it. The rest of the club scene, especially the phone bait and switch, was awesome. [And I like the deputy guy]
Thumper! Bad Thumper!
Uncle Monty Rucker's super phone? HEE! Jackie was much better in the scene, character wise, although I still don't adore her acting. And crutches girl is back!
You could tell from the set up of the Weevil/PCHers scene that it wasn't going to go well. I liked it. The fact that they're still going on about Logan killing Felix is interesting though. And showing us that Weevil bashed up Curly is interesting - we knew it already, but...who killed him? So many murders, so little time!
And Guy...I knew I'd seen him somewhere...Gordy from Sabrina! Such a nerd.
Weevil on the bus?
I loved Veronica's hair in the Wallace pre-game scene. But she was acting weird again. Gooooo Wallace!
Gia! What is with the hair? Is it seriously a wig? Or what? But yes, one of the more interesting developments there. I don't know if I buy that Woody knew about the bus crash, but then...hmmm! And same with Terrence, I am still rather confused about it.
Overall I'd give the episode 8+/10. They did a good job of squishing all that plot development into the one episode. It's sort of worrying when they do that, because, you know, don't put all your eggs in the one basket [?], but I trust the writers, for the most part...
