Re-watch time!
The Troy previouslies are so obvious!
What a
lame essay contest topic!
I don't think that the Hearst thing was too heavy handed. It was nice to get Veronica out of school without taking her out of character...by that I mean she was acting more like a normal student.
Ah. Poor, sweet, innocent Hannah. I still have to say that she isn't completely unlikeable [unless you're a rabid LoVer?], she's just skinny, naive and annoying.
The locker thing and the cake were very cute.
Dean! DEAN! Great role, better actor.
Wallace's shirt is very funny. But his attitude? Sad. I guess it is true that the audience was taking his relationship with Jane too seriously.
Veronica's shirt is adorable.
"Lie!" just shows how great Michael's timing is.
Great scene!
Despite the age difference I think they did fine with a kid playing an adult and an adult playing a kid.
And there's Troy!
The prickly Veronica works. "Duplicitous, evil water."
Maturity and chicks sure are overrated, Dick.
Points guy actually did crack me up.
The twice beering was great!
Troy is stupid, but he really isn't smooth. Not in that scene. He wishes.
College parties with intellectual conversations? Pull the other one.
Zapping the points guy? I don't know. Sort of hilarious, but sort of creepy. I think snark first, zap later works better.
And now we're at Keith and Cliff! Cliff!
Clothesless Cliff!
What an uncomfortable position to find yourself in...lucky he's got good friends!
"Going on puzzling errand, back later, Dad" has to be one of the best notes/memos ever!
I didn't believe that Troy was the rapist because, hey, it's Troy! Tool? Yes. Drugs? Yes. Rape? I don't know. Head shaving? Why would Troy do that?
As much as he used and lied to Veronica in the first season I still got the impression that he really liked her.
It's interesting that they've done another rape storyline, and that it brings up certain issues for Veronica. Unfortunately I don't think we got to see enough of a reaction from her, but it's not a
major gripe.
Keith's inside guys at Neptune Grand make a lot of sense.
No wonder he knew when Veronica had been to see Duncan.
Cliff's zest for life is welcome on our screens any time!
Lamb and Madison? Priceless!
And who would be able to restrain themself in that elevator?!
Troy looks too old. Not like a rapist, just old, is all.
I have to say that I like him more when he's whacky.
Dick's video game narration was funny. It sucks that they often use him for comic relief purposes, but it's always in chatacyer and it's believable.
Him getting excited over the file in the cake was also very funny.
Poor Alia.
She got a difficult role.
I didn't love [as much as you can love a scene about rape] the doorway scene, but then I suppose they were just doing what they thought they had to do.
I think because of the timeline, because she was only raped what amounts to a few hours ago, I expected a bit more emotion? The whole thing was very sped up for Hearst weekend visit purposes. I'm not blaming Alia, or the script, necessarily, I just would have expected something different. But what was there was fine.
Ah, the wig shop scene!
Veronica's [KB's!] masterful faux-good-acting is just too good to pass up. The writers sure pulled out all the stops.
The wig shop lady playing along until the last minute was great too.
It begins and ends perfectly.
"If I wanted to find a Hawaiian girl where would I start?"
"In Hawaii?"
VM!
The rest of the scene was wonderfully informative and interesting, if not a little too convenient.
The "18 - It's Legal" poster is too awesome for words! Only laughter will suffice.
"Once when I was little I wanted to be ice cream"
Me too, Wallace, me too. But I love how the jokes just kept on flowing.
Sometimes it amazes me how funny VM is and yet we consider it more of a drama.
The board with the pictures and the underwear is almost enough to put me off guys for quite a while. Ick!
Some of the names on the board are absolutely hilarious though. Cow Poke, Goat Boy...Bird Dawg? I don't get it.
The lunch group wig scene didn't quite work for me because I thought Veronica could have been a bit more...polite?
The mystery wrapping up scene was good. Since we didn't actually find out who the rapist is it's hard to say more.
Stacy's little dog? BLAH!
Keith trying to get rid of Veronica before his hooker arrived? Heeeee!
I actually kinda like the snarky hooker though.
And going from a snarky hooker to Logan/Hannah ickiness? Not nice!
The scene with Mr Hannah coming out of the elevator and the camera angles and whatnot was many kinds of fantastic though. Very ominous. Slightly misleading. Very cool.
Keith not wanting to lose Veronica is very sweet. How would he handle all his cases if she wasn't around?!
Unfortunately the end of this episode was too obvious. I mean, the audience [most of us?] have suspected that it was Woody's explosives the whole time, and I hate it when the audience is ahead of the characters. It didn't make me hate the episode, and it doesn't make me hate the writers. I am just used to being behind on VM, and having to think to work things out. It's just a little too dumbed down for me.
Wallace getting the scholarship? Yay!
Hannah's dad shipping her off to boarding school? Yay!
Logan looking sad? Not yay.
Danny working for Woody? Typical! Those Fighting Fitzpatricks rule the town, don't they?!
Overall I'd say...8/10? 8.5 for the guests, but 8 as a whole. There were just a few minor issues that meant I couldn't say that it's the best episode ever. Definitely one of the best of the season though.
